The Red Flag Campaign (October) The Red Flag Campaign is a public awareness campaign designed to address dating violence and promote the prevention of dating violence on college campuses. Through posters, fliers, and flag displays throughout campus, this campaign encourages students to recognize the “red flags” of dating violence. Hosted by the DV Planning Committee.
Healthy Relationships Photo Booth, October 18th, 11am-2pm in front of Lee (rain date: Oct. 20) – Visit us on campus walk to take a photo with your partner, friend, or roommate and share why yours is a healthy relationship! Hosted by the DV Planning Committee.
It’s on Us UMW Bystander Intervention Pledge, October 19th, 11am-2pm in front of Lee and 6-7pm (prior to Lip Sync) in front of GW – Learn how you can be intervene to protect your fellow Eagles from unsafe situations like sexual violence, risky alcohol use, illegal drug use, bullying, or harassment – and get a free t-shirt and other swag. Hosted by the Office of Title IX.
It’s on Us Homecoming Mocktails – October 21st, 11:30am-4pm, Battlegrounds Soccer Field. Join members of the Office of Title IX at the homecoming games to enjoy classy mocktails, snag swag, and pick up quick tips for keeping yourself and your fellow Eagles safe. Hosted by the Office of Title IX.
Open House for the Office of Title IX and Center for Prevention and Education, November 8th, 4-6pm – We will be providing light refreshments, resources and information about our services and our new federal grant, and asking visitors to leave their mark on our new home by helping with an interactive art project. Sexual Assault Awareness Month (All Month)
Please join us at any of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month events. This year’s theme is “Shatter the Silence!” We hope to increase awareness, support survivors, combat sexual violence, and Shatter the Silence during SAAM 2016.
