Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), 20 U.S>C. §§ 1681 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 34 C.F.R. Part 106, prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by recipients of Federal financial assistance. The University of Mary Washington is committed to maintaining a campus environment that is free from discrimination based on sex. In compliance with Title IX, the University has adopted Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment policies.
The University’s Title IX Coordinator is the designated university official with primary responsibility for coordinating the university’s compliance with Title IX and regulations relating to sex-based discrimination.
