Respondent Resources and Frequently Asked Questions

Respondent Resource Guide

Being accused of sexual misconduct in any form may be a confusing and stressful experience. There are resources on and off campus to answer your questions and offer you support through the process. Please see the list of resources below as well as some frequently asked questions and answers. If you have additional questions, please contact the Director of Compliance and Title IX/ADA Coordinator, Ruth Davison, at rdavison@umw.edu or (540) 654-5656. Both the Respondent and Complainant have the rights to a thorough, fair, prompt, and impartial process to resolve complaints of Prohibited Conduct. UMW uses the term “Respondent” to refer to the student, employee, or third party who have been reported to have violated the Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Harassment and Other Forms of Interpersonal Violence.
